There are three main branches of securities law. They are namely transactional work, regulatory work and litigation.

Lawyers who handle the security law suits and do regulatory work, assist the clients in handling the legal issues that involve the securities and exchange commission regulations, New York stock exchange and national association of securities dealers and other laws that protect the investor’s interest are known as securities lawyers.

This helps the law students to gain practical experience and increase their chances of employment after getting  the law degree
  • After getting admitted as a lawyer to the state bar, the lawyer must pass the required number of continuing legal education (CLE) courses which keeps the skills of the lawyers updated in the legal as well as non-legal field of securities laws and maintains their licenses
  • Lawyers who pass their undergraduate or post graduate courses with subjects like finance and business administration and their law degree with the business law, tax law, business law, securities law and company laws and litigation laws get advantage over their colleagues where they practice the securities law suits
