What is Criminal Law?

Criminal law is sometimes also known as the penal law. The criminal law may differ according to the crime committed by a person. The person may be held in custody, fined depending on the crime. Criminal law is imposed by the government for the offense.

Becoming a lawyer takes a person to undergo seven years of study including 4 years of college degree and 3 years of law school.

Early civilizations did not have any distinguishing feature between the criminal and the civil law. In most of the situations capital punishment is imposed, physical punishment such as beating, caning, and whipping is imposed though it has been interdicted by most parts of the world. Lawyers may specialize in many streams. Criminal lawyers usually work for long hours and usually from the workplace or office.

Lawyers are the backbone of the system. Any problem aroused would be sorted out by the lawyers abiding to the rules and regulations framed by the government.

Criminal lawyers help the innocent save his life against the person who has committed a crime. They fight for the innocent and let the truth victor. The employment of the lawyers of various types like corporate, civil, real estate, family, are expected to grow in the coming years. Most of the type of criminal lawyers are self employed that is practicing or in partner with the firm.
